Behind The Counter (2023)
My mom began working as a butcher about a decade ago. She has since worked her way up to become a supervisor and is the only woman in her department. Growing up, I did not understand the full extent of the work that my mom does every day, nor did I recognize that butchery is an art in and of itself. It is only now as an adult and photographer that I have come to appreciate the hard work that she puts in, and the knowledge and craftsmanship that she possesses.
