Flemingdon (2023)
Over the course of the last few years, cases of crime have gone up within my neighborhood as well as the surrounding area. However, growing up crime was not as prominent as it is now, although, there was the perception of avoiding certain parts of the neighborhood during later hours of the day –I was not aware of the reputation Flemingdon Park had until entering university. Upon sharing with some people where I am from, they responded in a manner that expressed their awareness of the reputation Flemingdon has. Since I started to spend more time downtown, I have found myself feeling disconnected from the community I grew up in. Through this project, I rediscover the neighborhood that has helped shape me into the individual that I am and showcase the Flemingdon Park I know.
